THERMOSTATIC RADIATOR VALVES
Thermostatic Radiator Valve, (TRV), is a self regulating valve
fitted to hot water heating system radiators. The TRV controls
the temperature of a room by regulating the flow of hot water
to the radiator.
Thermostatic Radiator Valves are fitted to individual radiators;
they control desired room temperatures very accurately,
allowing only essential heat to be generated in the process.
The TRV also enables lower temperatures to be maintained
in unoccupied rooms or where appropriate, thus reducing
heating costs and enhancing comfort. TRV’s require no
external power to operate. Thermostatic Radiator Valves
also come in 2 valve body styles, Angled or Straight.
MANUAL RADIATOR VALVES
Manual Radiator Valve can be fitted in tandem with a TRV
or fitted together on an individual radiator. Manual Radiator
Valves come in 3 valve formats; this being Wheelhead valve,
Locksheild valve and Locksheild drain-off valve, the latter
incorporates a drain off valve in the body enabling more
convenient draining of the heating system. The Wheelhead
valve can be turned up or down to regulate the flow of hot
water to the radiator, the Locksheild valve has a fixed
head and cannot be turned up or down.
Manual Radiator Valves come in all pipe sizes, the most
common for a domestic dwelling is 10mm, 15mm and 22mm.
Manual Radiator Valves also come in 2 valve body styles,
Angled or Straight. Unlike TRV’s Manual Radiator Valves
are not self regulating, they do not close down or stop flow
to the radiator. To do this you have to manually close the valves.
DECORATIVE RADIATOR VALVES
Decorative Radiator Valves are the same as TRV’s and
Manual Radiator Valves, they work in exactly the same way,
and they also have the same working format and valve body
styles. Decorative Radiator Valves accompany many designer
radiators, column radiators and towel warmers. Many
manufacturers design and make Decorative Radiator valves
to match several of their designer radiators.
Decorative Radiator Valves can be installed on all types of
radiators to achieve that unique special look; they are very
popular on bathroom towel warmers, giving the bathroom
that luxury feel with matching high gloss chrome valves
on a chrome towel rail. Styles range from contemporary
chrome angled or straight valves to old fashioned looking
cross top brass / bronze angled or straight valves.
